A reminder that we’re visiting The Olive, on Harrogate, Road, for our Christmas Meal at 7.00 pm on Monday 9 December. Bookings are now closed for this event.
December Book Club
Our next meeting is on Monday 2 December, when we’ll be meeting upstairs at Further North, in Chapel Allerton, at the earlier time of 7.00 pm to discuss Ten Thousand Sorrows by Elizabeth Kim. This is our last meeting before Christmas so we’ll also be enjoying our usual Secret Santa book swap. The idea is to wrap two books, separately, that you’ve enjoyed previously and think someone else might like.
November Outdoor Club
Join us at 1.00 pm on Thursday 21 November for a 4.5-mile circular walk through Woodhouse Ridge and past Meanwood Valley Urban Farm. Meeting by the cafe in Meanwood Park. Parking can sometimes be challenging so please leave enough time to get parked up. We’ll stop at the cafe for a drink afterwards. If you’ve not signed up already, please email chapelpiewi@gmail.com to let us know you’re coming along. Lift-sharing is always good so let us know whether you need or can offer a lift when signing up.
November Craft Club
For those who’ve signed up and paid, there will be a session with Anita, from BlumenKind, to create a Christmas-themed door decoration. Our usual craft club will run alongside this so you can bring along your knitting, sewing, colouring, etc, or just join us for a cup of tea and a chat. Meeting at St Matthew’s Church Hall, from 7.45 pm, on Monday 18 November.

Please bring along a regular-sized jam jar and any dried flowers or leaves you have. They also work well with pretty paper serviettes. Glue will be provided but if you have any newspaper, for covering the tables, please bring some along. Join us at St Matthew’s Church Hall, from 7.45 pm, on Monday 21 October.

This month we’ll be joined by Sarah Jayne Young. Sarah is a Vedic meditator and runs Sage Studio in Chapel Allerton where she has set up an amazing massage and wellness space for clients. Sarah will be talking about her massage practice and also about her mantra: to spread kindness and help others and the importance of self care. The lucky winner of our raffle prize this month will be able to enjoy a 10-minute head and shoulder massage at the end of the meeting. Visitors and non-members are welcome, with the usual £5 charge which covers all the month’s meetings. Join us at St Matthew’s Church Hall, from 7.45 pm, on Monday 14 October.
