Join us at St Matthew’s Church Hall, on Wood Lane, from 7.45 pm on Monday 16 September, for a friendly, informal, crafting and catch-up session. Bring along a craft project or just join us for a cup of tea and a chat.

This month we’ll be joined by Anita from BlumenKind for a sustainable flower arranging session. Flowers and other materials will be provided but you will need to bring along a plant pot (without holes in the bottom) and, if possible, some foliage from your garden. Our next Book Club is on Monday 2 September when we’ll be meeting upstairs at Further North, in Chapel Allerton, at 7.30 pm, to discuss the classic Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift. Our reading list for the next 12 months will also be revealed!

We had a lovely meeting on 5 August. It was good to see so many of you and to engage in some “traditional” WI crafting. If you didn’t quite finish your lavender bag(s), maybe come along to Craft Group on 12 August to continue and/or finish them.

This month we’re having a guided craft session to make lavender bags. They’re quite simple, with not too much sewing, so do come along and have a go! If you have any pretty cotton fabric left-overs and/or short pieces of ribbon, please bring these along together with reading glasses (if required), sewing needles, thread and scissors.
